Předseda vlády Jan Fischer tvrdí, že obviňuji Izrael z genocidy Palestinců. Jeho tvrzení je věcně nesprávné. Je pravda, že jsem obvinil Izrael, že se dopustil rozsáhlých válečných zločinů a zločinů proti lidskosti, citoval jsem ale pouze závěry respektovaných lidskoprávních organizací jako Human Rights Watch a Amnesty International. Pan Fischer je zřejmě ve sporu s lidskoprávním společenstvím a s mezinárodním právem, nikoliv se mnou.

Fischer také tvrdí, že mé argumenty o zneužívání holocaustu jsou..."čistě ideologické a manipulativní". Zesnulý profesor Raul Hilberg, zakladatel vědeckého studia holocaustu, který byl až do své nedávné smrti v tomto oboru nejvyšší autoritou (napsal třísvazkovou studii Zničení evropských Židů), uvedl, že mé klíčové závěry v knize Průmysl holocaustu jsou "opravdu umírněné, rozumné a věrohodné" a že kniha sama je "průlomovým vědeckým krokem". Moji druhou knihu o holocaustu Před soudem stojí národ označil deník New York Times za "významnou knihu roku".

Pan Fischer mě považuje za excentrika. Britský filosof John Stuart Mill výstižně napsal "Málo se nyní odvažujme být excentričtí, a to je hlavní nebezpečí naší doby."

Prime Minister Jan Fischer states that I accuse Israel of "genocide" against the Palestinians.  This statement is factually false.  It is true that I have accused Israel of committing massive war crimes and crimes against humanity.  But I quoted the conclusions of respected human rights organizations such as Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International.  Mr. Fischer's quarrel would appear to be with the human rights community and international law, not me.

Fischer also states that my claims of "abuse of the Holocaust...are purely ideological and manipulative."   The late Professor Raul Hilberg founded the field of Holocaust studies and was the leading international authority in the field until his recent death.  (He wrote the definite 3-volume study, The Destruction of the European Jews.)   Hilberg stated that my central conclusions in The Holocaust Industry were "actually conservative, moderate and...trustworthy," and he acclaimed the book itself as a "breakthrough."  A second book of mine on the Holocaust (A Nation on Trial) was named a "notable book of the year" by the New York Times.

Mr. Fischer calls me an "eccentric".  The British philosopher John Stuart Mill famously said, "That so few now dare to be eccentric marks the chief danger of our times."
