Two Josef Fronek MPhil (Research) Scholarships in Czech Studies 2016-17

The School of Modern Languages and Cultures at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, is pleased to offer two Josef Fronek MPhil Research Scholarships in Czech Studies to applicants of any nationality. The awards are for one year only (2016-17), starting 1st October 2016, and are worth £3000 towards tuition fees for each of the two successful candidates. Current research in the area of Czech Studies at the University of Glasgow concentrates on different aspects of 20th century Czech film, media, and literature studies, with a strong research record in topics such as culture and identity, and examination of different discursive approaches to self-examination and myth making. Comparative and interdisciplinary proposals, which examine the Czech topics within Central European and global contexts are especially welcome.
The purpose of the Josef Fronek MPhil (Research) Scholarships in Czech Studies is to foster international understanding of the political and social culture of contemporary Czech Republic.
