Scandalously manipulative opinion poll |
The US Defense Missile Advocacy Alliance has published a grossly distorted "opinion poll" regarding what the Czechs think of the proposed US missile shield, to be built in Central Europe. HERE HERE Only 1009 adults were polled. The sample was grossly unrepresentative. It was biased in favour of conservatives. A full 25 per cent of the sample were supporters of the Czech right wing party ODS. Only 10 per cent supporters of social democracy were questioned. From each of the smaller parties (the Catholics, the Communists, the Greens), only three percent of people were polled. Almost fifty per cent of those polled refused to say whom they voted for at the last general elections. The results are scandalously biased, they grossly misrepresent the balance of political power in the Czech Republic. This type of blatant manipulation discredits the DMAA, says sociologist Pavel Barák. |
